Fall is a wonderful time to make comfort meals. Get adventurous and try something new. Whenever luck comes our way and we find something delicious I love to share it!
My new bundt pan turned out to be amazing. If you love spice cake this is a keeper!

I never made this icing before. My tastebuds took me back to Christmas as a child. My mother was a master fudge maker. This icing tastes like penuche and the spice cake is so moist with all my favorite spices. This cake is way too much for me and Allen to eat, so I sliced some and put it in the freezer. Then took the rest of the cake to my eye doctor's office staff!

Gift goodies to those who take care of you.

I remember when patient's would bless our unit with homemade food. It always makes the team feel so appreciated.

Now for a main course.

Grab up some cube steaks and fresh mushrooms at the grocery and make an oven meal that never fails.

The steaks, so tender, you never need a knife! I love my whipped potatoes and limas. My hubby puts the mushroom gravy on his tators, but I'm a bit of a butter girl. I know that's because I was raised on churned butter!
The only change I would make is to use frozen limas, not canned. They were too salty for me! But sometimes, you have to use what's in the cabinet.

Soup Season is here!

Whenever you walk down the soup aisle to try to find something different, stand amazed. We have so much choice in America. I remember a woman who came from Russia. She said the cereal aisle overwhelmed her. Bet the soup aisle did too.
I tried a new lentil soup and it is good. Neat thing about soup, you can definitely add and subtract ingredients. But be sure to write it down during the experimentation, or if you are like me, you will forget the best creative culinary combination of your life!

To go with the soup, I made some cheese biscuits. Try them out. But personally I love my homemade baking powder biscuits best! I'm sure you have that recipe. I also have several bread, muffins, and biscuit recipes in my cook book, The Kincheloe Kitchen Recipe Collection. How do you like my advertisement? But then again, it's a great little cookbook and Thanksgiving and Christmas is coming quicker than you think!

I hope you try some of these recipes when your life slows down. If you are a gardener I know that most of our plants have had a bit of a hit. Yet, some surprises still continue to survive the cold night temps.

My apricot drift roses are thriving! Enjoy this season. Thank you all for your faithfulness to me. I hope you stay healthy and happy as the holiday season is approaching. Remember to eat hearty and share your goodies with the people in your life. Nourish your body and spirit.
May the Lord bless you today and always,
Donna
