Loving Easy Meal Prep
Lately I have been so busy that making time consuming meals is not even on my to-do list. Yes, feel sorry for my hungry husband. I am weary of my extra weight and the constant diet ads that flood social media pages. Does anyone truly have 45 minutes to an hour to waste watching and waiting for a skinny malnourished-looking celebrity share their weight loss secret? I don't. And half the time I look at the pictures and laugh as I wonder just how much apple cider vinegar, baking soda, cinnamon, turmeric or maybe turpentine is appropriate. All kidding aside, I confess I recently tried a diet only to be told by the coach, "You are the worst client ever!" Honest woman! I just love to eat real food way too much!
So I am blessing you with some simple, nourishing food that is easy to make and comes without guilt or dehydrated mixes! Enjoy the Chunky Monkey Smoothie!
And I found an interesting oat meal recipe that is filling and has all the wonderful spices I love without the sugar. The wonderful Sweet Potato Pie Oatmeal!
I know some diet gurus say that oats are horrible for you, but years ago I lost weight eating them every morning for breakfast. But I also did Richard Simmons Dance Your Pants Off at least three times a week! Plus I was working and running those halls in those days! Oh how I miss nursing.
Now here is a time saving lunch or breakfast that will totally reduce your carb intake. You know if you reduce the amount of bread in your diet it will make a difference. I found this wonderful curly Romaine lettuce and I made Turkey Salad Boats. You can do the same with tuna and egg salad. If you want a change for breakfast put your omelet in a boat and eat guilt free!
I sure am happy to be the crazy one in your life that tries hard to give you some tips and cares deeply about your time. Some people post a few ingredients on social media and beneath the tempting mouth-watering picture the comments are filled with aggravated people spitting out unstrained anger as they beg repeatedly for the recipe! I am sure you have seen this too!
Thank the Lord some of us know that kindness, respect, and a true compassion to help each other enjoy this one and only life means everything.
By the way a cookbook is coming! I can't wait! In the mean time enjoy quick and easy and know I am praying for you and please do the same me. I have to get my cholesterol down and do the same for my weight. I've done it before and I can do it again! Gotta get with Richard on the YouTube!
Remember to eat less and move more!
Have a blessed March my friends.
Love ya,
Donna
