Rotten be Gone!
A deck floor needs to be strong, even, and without give or weird wavey upheavals of some of the boards. This probably sounds crazy but I wondered, Can a person fall through a deck?
My husband shared my concern. I remembered an old faith question; Just how firm is your foundation?
Mine needed some immediate attention as you can see!
Sometimes when you discover one problem another creeps up. We put out requests to a couple of local contractors who never returned our calls. Our efforts fell through.
One of the best resources in life: Our neighbors.
Reach out to them and I promise you a call back and they may connect you to the most kind, professional and reputable guys! They did our job in less than three days and we couldn't be happier. Just take a gander at those lovely strong supportive boards! Hire a Goodman and you won't regret it!
So how do boards suffer such decay and rot?
Age matters. Our original boards happened to be about thirty-six years old and rain and water on wood never helps. The last several years I confess I probably accentuated the process for I loved having flowers cascading in pots so I could watch the butterflies and hummingbirds up close and personal. No more. I do have flower gardens and binoculars!
A firm foundation is so important in this life.
We want our steps secure. Sometimes we need to rip up the boards and replace the rotten with new. We threw the old boards on the trailer and hauled them away.
Some of us need to take the bad memories of our lives, label them rotten and replace them with healthy new ones! Together we can shout, "Rotten be gone."
Fondly,
Dr. Donna
