Salad and Slaw and Goulash
Oriental slaw or Cherry salad adds flavor and color to any meal.
I love carry-ins. Sandy and Debbie brought these luscious salads to a surprise
party for Barb, our fierce leader and friend!
Sandy's Cherry salad
The best thing about salad is you can substitute your favorite lettuce and
toss in mandarin oranges or strawberries for cherries. You can use available fruits or veggies. Our cherry tomato plants were great this year. Cucumbers, radishes,
zucchini, and peppers add color and flavor.
My husband and I actually planted some aloha peppers this year and kept
watching one get bigger and bigger. We went to a writer's conference in Fort
Wayne and when we got home it was gone!
Alarmed, I asked my nice neighbor if he saw any critter or person in our back yard while we were gone. "Bill, what on earth critter would eat a pepper?"
Sheepishly, he pointed to his chest. "It was me. It had a bad place and I knew it
would be rotten by the time you got home!"
I love honesty and I just laughed. Who would have thought?
Debbie's Oriental Salad
If you love crunchy and refreshing, this salad is calling your name!
Almonds add nutrition and good protein!
The dressing can be used for any salad. I love it with a simple tomato and
romaine and spinach dressings.
Goulash
This great comfort food with cornmeal makes it for me!
Enjoy my friends!
Blessings,
Donna
