This recipe is amazing for you boil the tators and carrots in a
chicken broth that simply gives flavor to an old fashion favorite.

If only Gram knew that trick! She used to make us what she called Shanty potato soup which was just thin sliced tators with some onion and celery floating about in a hot water bath seasoned with the tried and true pair: salt and pepper. I remember she sometimes mixed up a cup of milk with a few tablespoons of flour to make it thick. Then we slathered that thick yellow churned butter on toasted homemade bread for supper. Quite a white meal as I remember it. But it filled us up.

By now you how I love the smell of yeast rolls rising!

I tried a new recipe of Hawaiian rolls and they turned out very soft and smelled great. Really easy to make so don't feel like it is mission impossible! Great for soups, salads, and even the next recipe: Sloppy Joes.

I'm guessing this Sloppy Joe recipe came from the Pennsylvania Grange Cookbook of probably 1974. The front cover is long gone! But you can substitute ground turkey for the ground beef if you prefer. I really love the sauce for it isn't too salty or too sweet.

Speaking of sweet. . .

If you love chocolate and peanut butter here are some fun cookies to make with your kids. Guaranteed to get a kiss or two with these!
